An Introductory Flight at Chesapeake Bay Helicopters, Inc. is an exciting way to learn what flying is all about. The usefulness, versatility, joy, and excitement are all brought together with a hands on flying experience in the Schweizer 300!

Our Introductory Flight is charged at a reduced rate for your benefit. It is $150 (helicopter), for a one-half hour flight that counts towards the total time you need for your first license! We will point out the basic control functions and aircraft components to you. Then, you get in the pilot-in-command seat, and fly with one of our professional Certified Flight Instructors! This hands-on approach is the best way to discover what flying is all about!


CBH Student Helicopter Patrol Program:

CBH is proud to announce a new Student Helicopter Patrol program.
CBH will provide a minimum of 20 free hours of helicopter PIC (pilot in control) patrol time to any student paying for at least 100 hours of flight instruction. The pilot/student requirements for participating in this program are:

• At least a Private Pilot Helicopter license at the time of the patrol.
• Having paid for at least 100 flight hours at normal CBH rates.
• Students who finance flight training are eligible for the patrol program.
• M-1 visa students are eligible for the patrol program.

Some guidelines for the program are:
• Student participants will be provided at least 20 hours of free flight time, on patrol.
• ALL patrol flights will have a qualified flight instructor onboard the aircraft.
• Student participants will be required to undergo pipeline observer training.
• Students who complete the patrol program will be considered for employment positions ahead of other   students and outside employment sources.

• Conventional flight controls. Schweizer helicopters have the same flight control systems that you will find in other commercial helicopters that you may fly in the future! That makes transition to other helicopters easy.

• We have an excellent maintenance program. All of our equipment is the most advanced training technology. The Schweizer 300CB/300CBi is the only helicopter specifically designed for flight training. Our helicopters are low time and maintained by Schweizer factory trained maintenance personnel. We don't trust our maintenance to just anyone!

• We use Part 141 approved Jeppesen training materials tailored to the Schweizer 300CB. Although it covers all types of helicopters, having training materials that are tailored to the specific aircraft that you are flying is a tremendous advantage and accelerates learning!

• Our commercial contracts and experience lend an added benefit to your training. Our experienced pilots offer their experience in real world commercial helicopter flying to you during your training. Flying helicopters as a career means learning more than just the book!

• All costs are included in our flight training rates! Many companies entice you by offering low rates only to add to the hourly cost later. We include the instructor (in dual rates), insurance, headsets, pre/post flight briefings, fuel, oil, etc.

• CBH is a 141 approved school with courses ranging from Private - ATP
